Shennongshan Scenic Area is located in Qinyang City, Henan Province, covering an area of 90 square kilometers. Shennongshan has a rich historical and cultural heritage. The Yan Emperor Shennong here distinguished grains, tasted herbs, created farming, set up altars to sacrifice heaven, created a precedent for agriculture and medicine, and inspired the source of Chinese civilization. He and the Yellow Emperor together called the ancestors of Chinese humanities, admiring all generations. Shennong Mountain Jingying Temple is the birthplace of Taoism in the Qing Dynasty and is regarded as the ancestral court of the Qing Dynasty by the Chinese Taoist Association. Wei Huaxian, the founder of the Shangqing School, wrote the Taoist classic "Huang Ting Jing" here, which created the source of Chinese health sciences. There is also a thousand-year-old rock carvings at Taiping Temple, Yunyang Temple and Qingjing Palace where Buddha and Tao coexist, three historic gates with a long history, many monuments and incense, and it has been a holy place for believers to pray for wealth, blessing and luck.
In 1940, when Commander-in-Chief Zhu De from Shanxi to Luoyang negotiated passing Shennong Mountain, he was infected by the magnificent scenery and sentimentally sent a poem "Out of the Taihang": "The peaks of the mountains stand on the top of the Taihang line, and the Yellow River is in danger. Feng Yan is red like fire, and this trip should be a relief to the enemy." Zhang Siqing, the former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, gladly wrote the inscription "Shen Nong Bai He Song, a wonder of Kyushu" after visiting the scenic spot!
